About the firm
Thibeau Law is committed to delivering the highest quality legal services at rates that won’t make your eyes water.
Thibeau Law brings deep experience in a wide array of contracts—from standard NDAs and simple services engagements to multi-platform content licensing deals and complex technology transactions.
The firm prioritizes understanding clients' unique objectives and delivering tailored legal solutions to achieve them. With our experience and industry focus, we know which legal protections you need and which you don’t. And we deliver contracts that are easy to understand, without unnecessary legalese.
Thibeau Law was built intentionally to have extremely low overhead, so the firm’s rates meet or beat most other outside counsel options, whether BigLaw firms, small firms, outside GC services, or solo practitioners.
The firm’s founder
“I love supporting my clients’ success and delivering results that make them glad they hired me. Taking a practical, business-minded approach, I get deals done quickly while making sure the client is protected.”
Briana Thibeau has more than two decades of experience handling complex IP and transactional matters for leading tech, media, entertainment, and communications companies, from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to founding Thibeau Law, Briana served as Deputy General Counsel at NPR, where she provided strategic legal and business advice to C-suite, senior management, and internal clients on a wide range of legal matters. She also handled a large volume of IP and commercial contracts work and assisted with new initiatives and strategic planning in support of NPR’s mission.
Before that, she was a senior attorney at Time Warner Cable (now part of Charter Communications) responsible for negotiating large procurement and technology deals and advising on legal and policy issues relating to the company’s operations.
Briana started her legal career at the law firm of Dow Lohnes PLLC (now part of Cooley LLP) where she counseled newspaper, broadcast, cable, wireless, IT, and software companies on a wide variety of legal issues.
She contributed to the book Internet Law: A Field Guide and has delivered presentations on digital copy protection, copyright fair use, trademark law, licensing and distribution agreements, and legal issues in online publishing.
In addition to managing Thibeau Law, Briana serves as Of Counsel to the law firm of Trister, Ross, Schadler & Gold, assisting national nonprofits, political organizations, unions, and local grassroot organizations with IP and commercial contracts matters.
